Despite doctor analysis, it's common for most people to seek outside opinions and those specifically of mothers! Attention Deficit Disorder commonly referred to as ADD (Or ADHD if there is hyperactivity involved) is growing more and more common and becoming even more of a challenge to deal with in today's society.

Having an 11 year old who is ADHD - I have been long intending to write an article and summary of ADHD/ADD and summarize both our experiences and thoughts. Below is my article in response to the question I hear so often:

David was the kind of kid who was known for having a great deal of energy. At times, his high energy level made it difficult for him to focus on things that required him to sit still or to be calm. He was only in first grade but was already having problems at school. His teacher suggested that this was related to his having an abundance of energy. David was lucky to have parents who were willing to find ways for him to release his energy. They consulted with his teachers and with a child psychologist who evaluated the energy level of David. Suggestions for controlling high energy were made by both teachers and the psychologist.
